Music for Peace: 
​In the Context of Brazil

Masters Thesis completed at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Through a generous grant from the Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, qualitative research and interviews were conducted with fifteen Brazilian youth music programs committed to creating social change through music in poor rural and urban areas. Click here to download a free copy. ​

Boston Philharmonic Orchestra

2013-2015: Director of Education and Outreach programs in 12 Boston-area schools and El Sistema Programs as a part of a two-year Boston Philharmonic fellowship, launched and lead Boston Philharmonic Children’s Pre-concert Talks, developed curriculum for all school outreach programs grades k-5, conducted 12 Classroom Concerts, assistant to Conductor Benjamin Zander and Senior Advisor Mark Churchill.

Collaboration and Creativity  Laboratory

Led by Liza Barley, hosted by New England Conservatory and Bridge Boston El Sistema Program. Teaching artists discussed, experimented, and learned how to lead students in collaborative compositional creations.

Umoja Music School

2011-2013: Two-year Umoja Music School Piano Fellowship instructing private Suzuki lessons in piano, flute, and voice; conducted violin ensembles, composed for and led Tanzanian Children's’ Ensemble, taught weekly  group music classes in 2 Tanzanian public schools. Also while in Tanzania, I worked with the organization Clarinets for Conservation.
